Denise Barker

In 2007, Denise Barker embarked on her wine journey by completing her initial sommelier training course at Le Cordon Bleu. Eager to expand her wine knowledge, she relocated to France, where she worked across vineyards in the Loire Valley while exploring various European wine regions. Upon her return to the United States, Denise initiated her wine career on the Supplier side, collaborating with renowned brands like Chateau d’Esclans (The Whispering Angel), Frescobaldi, Paul Jaboulet Ainé, Baron Philippe de Rothschild, and other notable Grand Cru Bordeaux estates. Her credentials include WSET Level 2 Sake and WSET Advanced Level 3 certifications with distinction, and she's currently pursuing the WSET Level 4 Diploma Program.

Denise aims to inject a fresh perspective into the online wine retail sector, transforming the experience into an enjoyable, educational, and approachable journey. Beyond her role overseeing daily operations and consulting for major wine retailers, Denise's passion for wellness led her to establish 'Meditasting: A Holistic and Intuitive Guide to Understanding Wine.' As an IIN Certified Health Coach, she's dedicated to fostering discussions about health and well-being within the alcohol industry, striving to prioritize these essential conversations.
