025: Martin Brothers Seeks Experienced Sales Associate

We are a fast paced, family-run wine and spirits store located on the Upper West Side for over thirty years and are currently hiring part-time and full-time sales associates. We are seeking professional, enthusiastic and team-oriented individuals with experience in restaurant wine sales, distributor sales or retail. We are dedicated to providing excellent customer service and as such, the successful candidates must be passionate about and eager to expand their wine knowledge necessary for assisting our clientele.

Responsibilities:

  • Assisting customers with wine selection, sales and ringing them up at the register

  • Taking part in regular tastings with wine and spirits distributors to learn about and inform choices in our product selection

  • Assisting the General Manager with buying

  • Ensuring a welcoming store environment through daily cleaning and organizing

  • Processing telephone and internet orders

  • Setting up and updating customer profiles in the Point of Sale system

  • Stocking, organizing and dusting shelves when necessary

  • Assisting in inventory unpacking

  • Occasional deliveries when necessary (local walking within a few block radius)

  • Managing and creating social media content; communicating offers and promotions/events in a clear and enticing manner

  • Assisting in coordinating and developing in-store wine educational events

Qualifications/skills:

  • Highly motivated and willingness to learn

  • Team player with a positive, can-do attitude

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills

  • Intellectually mature with a strong work ethic

·       Thrives working in a fast-paced environment; proven ability to multitask

·       Eager to expand and grow wine knowledge through tastings, courses, etc.

·       Well organized and demonstrates excellent time management skills

·       Computer literate; proficient in Microsoft Office (particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

·       Comfortable with creating and managing social media content (preferred)

·       Able to lift and carry a case of wine

·       Able to work nights, weekends, holidays and closing shifts

Required:

·       Prior wine and spirits sales experience

·       Highly responsible and dependable
