La Maison de la Region Occitanie in New York Prepares to Reopen

The mission of La Maison de la Region Occitanie in New York is to help regional businesses enter and thrive in the US market, while also exposing US consumers and investors to what the Occitanie region has to offer.

Due to Covid-19, La Maison’s work had to transition from in-person events to virtual ones. As such, the office turned to growing its social media presence, both on Instagram @suddefranceny, and on LinkedIn (La Maison de La Region New York), and using the platforms to celebrate the region and products. This adventure into the virtual world uncovered new opportunities like marketing with wine Instagram influencers and hosting webinars on the American and Occitanie Agricultural and Renewable energy markets.

Last month, La Maison virtually hosted its annual Sud de France Calling wine tasting event. Over one week and six different time zones, more than 400 wines were tasted by over 30 US and Canadian importers during nearly 300 one-on-one video meetings with the producers. This was a big logistical undertaking, but, ultimately, it was a huge success as it helped Occitanie vintners meet North American importers and fostered businesses in a difficult year.

With the health crisis improving and with the rate of vaccination increasing, La Maison is eagerly looking forward to returning to in-person events and wine tastings. In fact, the company is planning on welcoming, with strict health guidelines, tri-state wine importers to their new office by the end of May. With this first limited event, La Maison is kicking off the 2021 wine year with a bang!
