📌 Course Basics

❓ How long is the course?
👉 21 weeks, meeting once a week for 2 hours.

❓ Can I take a class in-person if I registered remote?
👉 Only with advance written approval.

❓ Do I have to take the exam in person?
👉 Yes, there is no remote option for the final exam.

❓ What is the study time commitment outside of class?
📚 To get the most out of the Course, we recommend:
👉Reading the materials ahead of each class
👉Keeping up with weekly quizzes – to reinforce key concepts.
👉Practicing tastings using the provided tasting grid – Developing a structured approach is key.
👉Consistency is key: attending classes, being an active participant in discussions and tastings will make a huge difference in your learning experience.

📌 Enrollment, Payments & Scholarships

❓ How do I secure my seat in the course?
👉 Your seat is only confirmed once you submit the registration form with payment (either in full or via installment). We do not hold or reserve seats without payment.

❓ How much is tuition?
👉 $3,250 (includes wines for in-person students).

❓ Do you offer payment plans?
👉 Yes! Three installments of $1,083.

❓ Are scholarships available?
👉 SSA does not currently offer scholarships.

❓ Can I get a refund if I withdraw?
👉 No penalty refunds will be issued when requested in writing one month before the first class.
👉 No refunds are issued once classes begin - plan carefully! 

📌 Exam & Certification

❓ What’s required to pass the exam?
👉 80% to pass, 95% for distinction.

❓ When is the final exam offered?
👉 Twice a year, in-person only.

❓ Am I a certificated sommelier if I pass the exam?
👉 Yes! You’ll receive a Sommelier Certificate diploma and pin. Which means that you are a certified Sommelier (certified by the SSA).
