β How long is the course?
π 21 weeks, meeting once a week for 2 hours.
β Can I take a class in-person if I registered remote?
π Only with advance written approval.
β Do I have to take the exam in person?
π Yes, there is no remote option for the final exam.
β What is the study time commitment outside of class?
π To get the most out of the Course, we recommend:
πReading the materials ahead of each class
πKeeping up with weekly quizzes β to reinforce key concepts.
πPracticing tastings using the provided tasting grid β Developing a structured approach is key.
πConsistency is key: attending classes, being an active participant in discussions and tastings will make a huge difference in your learning experience.
π Enrollment, Payments & Scholarships
β How do I secure my seat in the course?
π Your seat is only confirmed once you submit the registration form with payment (either in full or via installment). We do not hold or reserve seats without payment.
β How much is tuition?
π $3,250 (includes wines for in-person students).
β Do you offer payment plans?
π Yes! Three installments of $1,083.
β Are scholarships available?
π SSA does not currently offer scholarships.
β Can I get a refund if I withdraw?
π No penalty refunds will be issued when requested in writing one month before the first class.
π No refunds are issued once classes begin - plan carefully!
π Exam & Certification
β Whatβs required to pass the exam?
π 80% to pass, 95% for distinction.
β When is the final exam offered?
π Twice a year, in-person only.
β Am I a certificated sommelier if I pass the exam?
π Yes! Youβll receive a Sommelier Certificate diploma and pin. Which means that you are a certified Sommelier (certified by the SSA).
