May Matta-Aliah is a New York based wine and brandy educator and President of In the Grape. She is a seasoned presenter, an accredited educator, and brings over 20 years of experience and knowledge to all her work. In her teachings May leverages her wide breadth of knowledge, her hands-on industry experience along with insights gained from her extensive travel to the worlds’ wine regions. May holds numerous industry certificates including the Diploma in Wines & Spirits from the Wine & Spirits Education Trust (WSET®), Certified Wine Educator from the Society of Wine Educators (SWE) and Italian Wine Ambassador from Vinitaly International Academy (VIA).

May represents the Italian wine region of Franciacorta and the French brandy region of Armagnac as their Official Educator in the USA. Born in Beirut Lebanon, May has launched several Lebanese wines in the New York market and currently represents Chateau Ksara as their US Ambassador.

When not talking about wine, May can be found snuggling with her cat Smokey, tending to her growing collection of indoor plants or reading a paperback novel on a beach with a cold beer in hand.
