PANELISTS

Panelist 1 - Andrea Costanti

Panelist 1 - Andrea Costanti

It was 1983 when a very young Andrea Costanti took over Colle a Matrichese, inheriting quite a large responsibility for one of the few distinguished labels of quality in Montalcino at the time.  The following years have demonstrated an increasingly confident manifestation of total harmony among the characteristics of the land, the Brunello of these unique vineyards and Andrea Costanti's sensibility to wine and his encompassing idea of the experience and pleasure of wine.

Today, although he has a great respect for the Brunello tradition, Andrea is continually looking to the future with his far-reaching innovations.

Conti Costanti was founded in 1555 in the province of Siena. Today the winery is owned by Andrea Costanti, and the winemaker is Vittorio Fiore. Costanti currently has 25 acres under vine with an average yearly production of about 60,000 bottles.

Panelist 2 - Daniele Zeffirini

Panelist 2 - Daniele Zeffirini

Daniele Zeffirini was born in Montalcino on 4 November 1977 to a family that has lived here for many generations.

Though he studied law in Siena, he had a growing passion for wine, which led him to focus his attention and future studies on all things wine. He became a certified sommelier and continued his education, gaining practical experience over twenty years in every phase of grape production, particularly Sangiovese.

He has known the Fuligni family since he was a child, and for the last twelve years, he’s been managing the cellar and the wines – he has always loved their wines and considered their style a benchmark in the world due to their elegance, age-worthiness, and classic style. Over the years, he worked very closely with the Fuligni family to continue creating wines that are an excellent expression of the territory and production zone. His main goal is to maintain the great quality Fuligni is known for in light of the new challenges climate change brings. All this while fully respecting each individual growing season’s unique characteristics.
